Anthony Maranto
Hello, I'm Anthony! I recently received my BFA in industrial design within the College of Computing and Digital Media at DePaul University, graduating Cum Laude.
After my time at Lake Forest High School, I wasn't sure what to study. In order to continue my education, I attended the College of Lake County. During my time at CLC, I explored potential majors and earned an Associates of Arts degree with High Honors through Phi Theta Kappa. While I thought about being a photographer or graphic designer, I wasn't satisfied with either field.
That's when I found the industrial design BFA at DePaul. As I discovered, industrial design encompasses many interests of mine. For instance, personal transportation, cameras, gaming peripherals, furniture, and musical instruments. These objects captivate my interest through their beauty, functionality, longevity, and use of quality materials.
Furthermore, I find the junction between the engineering, manufacturing, ergonomics, sustainability, and functionality of products to be fascinating. This is a huge part of why this field is personally captivating.
My strengths lie in CAD modeling, physical prototyping, user testing, sketching, and being artistically multifaceted. Since my background lies in a variety of mediums, I have a deeper understanding of the intersectionality of design with other subjects. I believe this aids my design process and enriches my personal design ontology.
Additionally, I believe I am diligent, easy to work with, and well-spoken. Overall, I strive to be a reliable team member in any position and I take pride in my work.
Starting in 2022, and ending upon graduation, I was accepted to DePaul's Industrial Design Consulting Team. We are a handpicked selection of students tasked with industrial design projects inside and outside of the university. This gave me invaluable real-life experience that I intend to apply in my next job.
With all of this being said, I am very excited to share my industrial design projects, in addition to my work in photography and basic illustration.
Thank you for visiting!
